RELEVANCE

• This course introduces students to commonly used digital media for game design such as Unity.

• The course provides understanding the basics technicalities of commonly used digital media in the toy and game design area and sensitization to the same.

• The course is especially relevant for Toy and Game design because it gives practical know-how along with creative exploration of the media.

OBJECTIVES

• This course provides essential techniques, technologies and methods to learn the technical side and aesthetics of media: print, static- moving digital audio visual media.

• This course will help in developing basic knowledge, skills and perception for media: print, static as well as moving digital audio visual media and Sensor Technology.

COURSE CONTENTS

• Lectures/ presentation/discussions to sensitise students to aspects of visualization, still and moving images, camera angles – point of view etc.

• Discussions on narrative and non narrative structures of story telling and its implications in game design

• Discussions on existing games, gaming technologies and platforms

• Visualization of 2D & 3D, still and moving composition, character design, basic movement, Background composition

• Learning of basic animation software, Narrative and non narrative structure, programming/level design.
